The Ukrainian-German Historical Commission (DUHK/УНІК) invites applications for participation in the international workshop “The End of Wars. Ukraine in Historical and International Contexts”, to be held on September 25–27, 2025, at Yurii Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University.
This workshop aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue on the historical and contemporary processes surrounding the end of wars, with a particular focus on the Ukrainian context. It will bring together early-career scholars from Ukraine, Germany, and beyond to explore the political, social, and cultural dimensions of peacemaking.
The program includes lectures, discussions, and small-group sessions. Workshop topics include:
Graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and early career researchers are encouraged to apply. Priority will be given to candidates from Ukraine and Germany, but applications from other countries are welcome.
The working language is English. The workshop will be held in person.
The organizers will cover accommodation, meals, and travel expenses.
