In 2026, the Ukrainian Oral History Association will celebrate the 20th anniversary of its founding. To mark this milestone, a series of events and initiatives is planned for 2025-2026 to reflect on the achievements of the past two decades and outline new directions for the future. The anniversary conference UOHA-2026, marking the 20th anniversary of the Ukrainian Oral History Association, will be held in Uzhhorod on 10-11 August 2026. We warmly invite all interested participants to submit their applications by 25 April.
The Summer Institute will take place in Uzhhorod on 11–14 August 2026 and will focus on the limits of testimony and on the methodological, ethical, and interpretive challenges of engaging with silence, self-censorship, and the unspoken in war narratives.
The conference dedicated to an interdisciplinary discussion of the challenges of collecting, preserving, interpreting, and academically using oral history sources will take place in Chernihiv on February 20-21, 2026.
