Chair for Public History, Historical Institute, FernUniversität in Hagen, with the support of the Heinrich Böll Foundation and in partnership with the Institute of Social Strategies and Initiatives, Kyiv, is organizing the workshop “Kharkiv under Fire: Local History in Times of War,” which will be held in Berlin on October 24-25, 2024, in a hybrid format.
Workshop participants will present various research perspectives on the history of Kharkiv, with a particular focus on documenting war testimonies and rethinking the role of oral history in the 21st century.
On October 24 at 18:00 (CET), Gelinada Grinchenko, Tanja Penter, and Yevhen Zakharchenko will engage in a public discussion on the ongoing Russian war and its impact on the perception of Kharkiv’s urban history.
